That’s the idea behind a sweet Iranian romantic comedy imbued with surprising radicalism

For a 70-year-old Iranian widow, it’s a desperate attempt to feel alive again, but it’s a brave move for anyone. Mahin (played by the charming Lily Farhadpour) spends her days doing the same things: sleeping until noon, rushing to answer FaceTime calls to her daughter who lives abroad, tending to her garden, and visiting the not-so-local market from her home on the outskirts of Tehran.
