Plot
One last kumite, one last battle – for his daughter’s life. David Yeung is the son of Bolo Yeung, who played the antagonist Chong Li in 1988’s Bloodsport (1988), which was the main inspiration for The Last Kumite (2024). The story: Karate champion Rivers (Mathis Landwehr) retires to avoid permanent injury. Shortly after, shady businessman Hall (Hues) offers him a huge prize to join a deadly Kumite competition. Michael refuses, but his daughter Bree (Kira Kortenbach) is kidnapped. To save her, Michael must enter the race. The film is as shallow and superficial as a B-movie, with meaningless dialogue. A D movie. D for horrible/shameful misery. Next time Clarkson brings in Til Schweiger and throws in Steven Seagal to complete the disaster! I’m only giving it 2 stars because of Mike Möller and Michel Qissi.
