A man, his wife, and their teenage children take a trip down memory lane while facing divorce. Florent Bernard wrote the film with Charlotte Gainsbourg in mind for the role of Sandrine, but instead asked for an actress like Charlotte Gainsbourg, thinking he would never be able to get her for the film. Luckily, his producers were also producing Jane par Charlotte (2021) (her documentary about her famous mother), so they asked her and she liked the script. It wasn’t until she agreed that Bernard came up with the idea of pairing her with José Garcia; he then completely rewrote the character for him. He finally read the script on a Wednesday morning and agreed later that day. During the breakfast scene at the beginning of the film, Sandrine’s children are looking at a bowl of cereal in front of them in one shot, and then suddenly looking at their mother standing to the side in the next.
