When the glass is presented at her feet, she is wearing socks

Plot

Having witnessed a strange and traumatic incident involving a female patient, the psychiatrist becomes increasingly convinced that she is being threatened by a supernatural entity. A few days before the film’s release on September 30, 2022, the film’s cast appeared at various baseball games, sitting behind their home base, motionless and smiling, staring into the camera, unmoving, despite the understandable concern of the fans in the room, wearing Smile T-shirts. Another quickly appeared in the background with the crowd on the Today show. At about the 31-minute mark, Rose breaks a glass when her alarm goes off.

A few seconds later, when she checks the door, she is wearing lace-up shoes. Based on what happens later at the party, there are a few continuity issues that may not be “mistakes” but actually intentional to show the “breaks” in Rose’s mind/sanity. Why are you doing this to me? Monster: Because your mind is so appealing.

Paramount’s opening and closing logos feature a curved line shaped like a smile at the bottom of a mountain. Lollipop Written by: Beverly Ross and Julius Dixon Performed by: The Chordettes. LOTS of scary moments and nasty walls, as expected. Some original horror and a lot of “been there, done that” which is fun for a horror junkie like me.

A weak conclusion

BUT. It literally seems to be setting up a bland sequel to come in the future. You’ll know what I mean if you’re looking for a more meaningful ending to what could have been a grand finale, as this story builds and guides the viewer towards something that might make some sense. Not worth the high rental price.
